The P.A.R (proportional aspect ratio) design , takes stability, efficiency, and power to a higher level than ever before! This concept based on a different aspect ratio on each size (higher on bigger kites and lower on smaller ones) to give the correct stability to the different size kites. - DESIGN Features:
The goal is to achieve a kite that has the closest possible feeling between each size. This in combination with a stiffer armature of the bladders creates a kite that has a lot of power and more range than other kites. You can hold the P.A.R. kite longer when overpowered because the stiffer body will keep a perfect shape and will allow you to de-power with more ease. - Construction:
We are the only company using thicker Mylar 180 grs and PU Bladder material to keep the kite as stiff and stable as possible. The stitching on the leading edge and the central bladders uses a 6 layer sandwich technology. A system of construction that will give you 100% security on the seams durability.
In terms of performance you will have more power, more elevation potential for jumps, and more control when the wind increases.

because: I tested this RRD 14.9 at the same time with the Wipika Airblast 11.8 on the 20M and 50cm bar.
Thumbs up: Great 6 layersandwich technology makes the kite very SOLID in the air. Just by the look and feel of the kite when you pumped it up, you know this kite is super durable! As first I thought with the heavy material, the kite would luft out of the sky in light gusty wind; I was wrong. The RRD 14.9 is a very stable kite. On this kite, you won't see the jellyfishing problem that you find on the Airblast 11.8 latest 7 struts version. This RRD Type iv kite 14.9 powerwise is almost simliar to the AB11.8. Its turning ability is as fast as the AB 11.8. Jumping, handling characteristics of the RRD 14.9 is very similar to AB11.8. In summary, this kite is very well built kite with fast, great handling for a large size kite.
Thumbs down: The carry/expanding bag for this RRD kite needs a little more works: It needs to be a bit larger and a shoulder carrying strap.

because: I have been riding the rrd 14.9 since the latest model came out. The RRD has a very good design. It has good quality material to help the kite last longer. This kite has good up wind ability, lofty jumps good hang time, and it turns fairly quick for its size. I ride this kite in most wind conditions from 12 to 25 mph. The bar has an ok design, the on thing that I would change is the way to wrap up the lines. There is no place on the ends of the bar to wrap the lines on. The carrying bag could be better too. These kites are very precious and I like a good bag to carry them in. RRd needs a thicker bag with backpack straps. Great kite for the intermediate to advanced rider.
